The Dealership Workflow: Batch Blur a Whole Lot Before Listing
BlurMyPlates is a batch auto photo blur tool built for listing managers and media teams. Instead of redacting plates one photo at a time in an editor, process an entire lot's worth of inventory photos in one pass and publish the same day.
- 1
Drop the lot folder
Export the day’s shoot to a folder and drag it onto the uploader. Hundreds of photos queue in one drop, and the AI model is already loaded by the time you let go.
- 2
Blur every plate in one pass
Pick pixelate, blur or solid, then run the batch. Use Thorough mode for wide lot shots where background vehicles have small plates. Each photo gets a detection report you can check.
- 3
Download the ZIP and publish
One click bundles every blurred photo into a ZIP with “-blurred” file names. Upload to Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, AutoTrader, Cars.com or your DMS exactly as before.
Security & Compliance Statement
For dealership IT and compliance teams: BlurMyPlates is a zero-upload license plate redactor. There is no server that receives photos, so there is nothing to approve, host or audit on our side. Everything below is true for every photo and video processed on this page.
- No image data, file names or plate text is transmitted. Only the AI model is downloaded.
- No account, no cookies for the tool, no cloud storage. Nothing is retained after the tab closes.
- Works offline once the model is loaded, so it fits locked-down networks.
- Verifiable: open the browser Network tab during a batch and watch no uploads happen.
- Open-source detection model (YOLOv11) running on your own hardware.
- Nothing to add to your vendor list: no customer or vehicle data ever reaches us.

Dealership FAQ
Is there a limit on how many photos I can process at once?
There is no fixed cap. Processing happens in your browser, so the practical limit is your computer’s memory. A modern desktop or laptop comfortably handles several hundred inventory photos per batch. For very large lots, split the folder into batches of a few hundred and download each batch as a ZIP.
How fast is batch processing?
Speed depends on your hardware. On a recent laptop or desktop with WebGPU, Fast mode usually takes about a second per photo or less, so a 200-photo lot finishes in a few minutes. Thorough mode re-scans each photo in close-up tiles to catch small plates on background vehicles and is roughly 10x slower, so reserve it for wide lot shots.
Can I drop an entire folder of inventory photos?
Yes. On desktop Chrome and Edge, drag a folder (or several) onto the page and every image inside, including subfolders, is queued automatically. You can also click Select Folder. Mobile browsers do not support folder drops, so pick photos from the camera roll instead.
Which image formats are supported? What about HEIC and RAW?
JPG, PNG and WebP work in every browser. HEIC photos from iPhones work in Safari and other browsers that can decode HEIC; if yours cannot, convert them to JPEG first. Camera RAW files (CR2, NEF, ARW, DNG) are not supported, so export JPEGs from your camera or editing software before blurring.
Is any customer or vehicle data uploaded to a server?
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser once, and every photo is detected, blurred and encoded on your own device. No image data, file names or plate text is ever transmitted. Your IT team can verify this in the browser’s Network tab, and the tool keeps working with the internet disconnected once the model has loaded.
Do blurred photos keep their original resolution?
Photos up to about 64 megapixels on desktop (16 megapixels on phones, tablets and Safari) are blurred at full resolution; larger images are scaled down to fit browser canvas limits. Output is JPEG at 92% quality, or PNG when the source was PNG, with “-blurred” added to the file name so your originals are never overwritten.
Is there an API or integration for dealer management systems?
Not today. BlurMyPlates is a browser tool with no server component, which is what makes it free and private. Most dealerships run it on the workstation where listing photos are prepared: drop the day’s lot folder in, download the ZIP, then upload to your DMS or listing platform as usual.
Can I blur plates in walkaround videos?
Yes. Drop an MP4 or MOV file (up to 2 GB, 10 minutes at 1080p or 5 minutes at 4K) and every plate is tracked and blurred frame by frame, then exported as a new silent MP4. Videos are processed one at a time.
What does it cost for commercial use?
Nothing. BlurMyPlates is free for dealerships, wholesalers and resellers, with no account, watermark or volume tier. Because processing happens on your device there are no server costs to pass on.
